GPA Calculation

Does anyone know how UF calculates GPA's? How do they weigh pre-IB courses, IB courses, AP courses, honors course, and dual enrollment?

Sure… round up all your “academic” courses, which include

 • English
 • Math
 • Science
 • History/Social Studies
 • Foreign Language
 • All AP/IB courses

Calculate your GPA using the standard points (A=4, B=3, etc.). However, for

 • AP/IB courses: add 1 point
 • Honors/Dual Enrollment courses: add 0.5 points

I am not sure about “pre-IB”.
Remember, do not use courses such as phys. ed, business, etc. in the GPA.

Thank you so much. But do they count business classes if they are for your IB track?

Just calculate your GPA while thinking that they count, and then do it while thinking they don’t. The overall result shouldn’t be too different and will give you an idea of where you stand.

This is exactly how they calculate it. Doesn’t matter if its IB buisiness or AP art history, if its not a core class (English, Math, Science, History/SS or Language,) they don’t count it for the UF GPA. They do weight, but they do not use “ALL” IB/Ap classes.
