GPA Concern because of one C minus in Gym (from Freshmen Year)

Hey everyone,

The title is self-explanatory. Throughout high school, I have gotten 25 As, 3 Bs, 1 C+, and 1 C-. The C- was the mark from Physical Education 9, but the next year I received a 96 in Physical Education 10.

My GPA unweighted right now (with the C-) is around 3.72, and (without the C-) is around 3.84. However, the schools I'm applying to won't be able to see my grade 9 transcripts (our school only sends 10-12).

How much would that C- in a non-academic subject affect me? I'm crossing my fingers that it won't do much harm!

Most schools will focus only on the core academic classes (English, math, science, history/social/science, foreign language), so I would not worry about it.

If the college wants your grade 9 transcripts, you will need a way to get it to them, your school notwithstanding.

@skieurope Main school I’m targetting is Penn, and we have had kids from our school apply to ivies. Apparently, Penn doesn’t ask for our grade 9 grades, but Princeton phoned the school to find out.
