GPA Conversion for UC's

I haven't applied yet but am thinking about it for next year. I just have a quick question about the grading system. At my school (4-year out-of-state), grades are calculated as such:

A = 4
B+ = 3.5
B = 3
C+ = 2.5
C = 2

...and so on. I assume that they combined the minus (-) and plus (+) grades. For example: 3.3 and 3.7 for a B+ and an A-, respectively, is a 3.5 B+.

Would this affect my GPA? Would all of my 3.5's be converted down to 3.3's and so on. Or will they take into account that those could have been A-'s? Thanks!

It would change your GPA to be equal with the rest of the applicants. When you fill out the application, you fill out your grades and leave them to calculate your GPA. A- is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, B is 3, B- is 2.7, C+ is 2.3....

Hey phpguru. Thanks again for your help.

Are you talking about the grades that they use for admission purposes or for enrollment? That is, do they consider your non-transferrable GPA versus your UC GPA?
