gpa conversion question

Hey!

I see some people give their weighted gpa's above 4.0, like 4.5, how does that convert to 65-100 scale?

Also my school works on a 65-100 scale, so do how do I convert weighed scores above 4.0 between the 65-100 and 4.0 scale?

like ex: 99 AP Calculus- 10% weight
109 points, but whats that on a 4.0 scale?

or do I have the weighing thing all wrong....

Colleges will recalculate it their own way, but i guess you can use a proportion

pts /total possible pts= x / 4.0

Most colleges prob give 90-100 a 4.0, 80-89 3.0, etc.

At my school, they do things oddly...The system basically has 4.0=100, 3.9=99, 3.8=98, down to around 93 or 94 where it gets a bit more complicated. What should I do about this? Last year, my GPA was 3.728, although it would have been over a 4.0 on many other school's standards. When I apply, should I make a note explaining the system, because my GPA looks quite a bit lower than it would be on other school's standards?

Some schools include a document that explains the grading system that is sent to a college with your transcript. Ask your GC or registrar if there is such a document.
