GPA conversion to 4.0?

I have had this question in my mind for a while and was wondering what chart you CCers used to convert your GPA out of 100 to the 4.0 scale. At the collegeboard website, this chart is given:
How to Convert Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale

It says at the top that most colleges and high schools use that chart to convert the grades. But I have seen a couple others that show a very different conversion. Which one to use?

Generally it’s

A = 4.0
B = 3.0
C = 2.0
D = 1.0
F = 0

If it’s a half-credit class, divide all those by two.

Use your school’s grading scale to determine what letter grades certain percentages are. My school only considers a grade an A if it’s above 94%, but colleges will consider your grades based on your high school’s grading scale. My school doesn’t retain the actual percentages on our transcript, just a letter grade.

Find your grade points for each class, add them together, and divide by the number of credits attempted. (Same as the number of credits earned unless you failed a class.)
