I don't know if it's only me confused that in NY, we actually don't use point scale such as 2.3, 3.8, etc, but we use like 100, 95, and i believe many other schools do that also.
So, when i was doing research for college, i found out that many people used point scale, therefore, i did some more researches and founed out different solutions that some claim 4.0 is 100, and some others claim 4.0 is 95 or 93, etc,
So, can someone gives me the truth, please?
Thank you
For example: MIT last year's average GPA for these who apply is something like 3.89, is it 96, or is it 93?

Converting grades to the 4.0 scale varies by state, and possibly by school district. An unweighted 4.0 for an end of year subject grade typically ranges anywhere from “89.5 and above” to “95.5 and above.” Likewise, calculating weighted GPA varies too, which is why some colleges might recalculate things based on your 100 point scale grades. Your guidance counselor will know what you should put if you have to convert to a 4.0 scale for your school. The GC usually will inform the college how your conversion is done at your school in the GC’s section of the Common Ap or the School Profile.
