GPA conversion

I have a question about converting your student’s GPA on a 100 point scale. If your cumulative grade on your transcript is listed as a 92, that would be a 3.7 weighted. Does anyone know if it goes up more because of Honors or AP classes, or is it set? And if it goes up, by how much for each class?

The weighted GPA includes AP and Honors adjustment. Is the 92% weighted already. If so the unweighted GPA would be lower. Colleges will recompute the weighted GPA on their own formula.

The best person to talk to would be your guidance counselor. Not every HS does weighted GPAs.

^ This. If your HS doesn’t weight GPAs then you don’t have a WGPA (unless you’re applying to the UCs who tell you how to compute Their WGPA).

I can make it even easier for you. Unless the college specifically requests that you convert the GPA (and with the exception of the UC’s, few colleges, if any make that request), don’tconvert. The GPA on the app should match the GPA on the transcript. So if the transcript shows 92, report a 92. If the transcript does not show a weighted GPA, report the unweighted GPA.

my son’s HS doesn’t weight until senior year and the transcript shows both UW and W.
