gpa conversion

Does anyone know how I can convert my unweighted gpa into a weighted one? my school doesn't weight. I have a 3.8, but I have taken all honors and ap courses. is there an online converter or anything?

every school uses a different grading scale, but at my school

Normal Class: A= 4, B= 3, ect
Honors: A= 5, B= 4, ect
AP: A= 6, B=5, ect

so just add up your points and divide by total # classes

Weighted GPAs differ in what's weighted.

My school doesn't weight honors.
Some schools weight honors/AP equally.

Here, it's 4.0 for honors and 5.0 for AP.

So like, my sophomore schedule.

English II A/A = 4.0 + 4.0
AP Calculus A/A = 5.0 + 5.0
AP Biology A/A = 5.0 + 5.0
AP Euro = 5.0 + 5.0
APES = 5.0 + 5.0
GPA = 48/10.

what about an a- or a b+?

you really have to check with the school you're applying to.

Some weigh 4.0 for honors, some weigh 5.0 for honors.

Some care about minuses/pluses, some like UCs could care less.

Lul my school randomly weighted two classes that I totally didn't think they were going to and now my weighted GPA is way higher than I thought and a few people are mad about it. :/ 'Cause even though I was number 2 both ways, this time I'm number 2 by a wider margin and without being tied with people. Anddd one of the classes in question was "Art 2 GT" (GT is like Honors) and people are like "*** WHY SHOULD ART BE WEIGHTED" but I mean DON'T HATE THE SAL HATE THE SYSTEM!

THIS IS NOT REALLY THAT RELEVANT TO THE THREAD BUT I HAD TO RANT AND DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE MY OWN THREAD.

^Lolololol poseur :]
