I heard somewhere that the unweighted gap should be expressed in a 4.0 scale, and the weighted on a 5.0 scale; is this true? If so I'm assuming it's because on a 4.0 scale a 95 and a 99 both show up as 4.0...also, how can I convert a score to the 5.0 scale?? Thanks guys!!

What you’ve described is my understanding. Selective colleges will generally recalculate your gpa into their own weighted gpa anyway.

You can try this calculator, but I’m not sure what the point is- no schools publish GPA requirements, weighted or otherwise and if you look at the cappex/parchment type of chance me sites, there are plenty of students with self reported 4.0 GPAs that get rejected by top 20 schools.

UW is generally on a 4.0 scale. A weighted scale is defined by the school.
