GPA conversions

hey does anybody know how to convert a % out of 100 to the 4.0 system? I have a 98 average so if anybody knows what that is out of 4 that would be great thanksss

o_O
like a 3.95??

.98*4=3.92

98 = 4.0

95+ = 4.0, thats y. Its not based AT ALL on the (percent out of 100)/4 thing. It just is coincidentally able to become like that.

The reason 95+ is 4.0 is because colleges dont give a crap if u got a 95 (A) or a 100 (A). To them its all the same.

I have the same GPA and my counselor told me that converts to a 4.0. It's not just a basic proportion where 98/100 = X/4.0. It's like Root said, anything pretty much above a 95 is considered a 4.0.

isnt that a 3.92?....just divide ur grade out of 100 by 25.

^Pay attention to the previous threads. At the overwhelming majority of schools, that would be a 4.0, assuming that you have all A's. If you have an A- that changes things slightly. Individual grades are given more weight in the 4.0 scale, and it's not just averaging things together.

4.0.

MOST go:
100-90 = 4.0
89-80 = 3.0
79-70 = 2.0
69-60 = 1.0
Below 60... well you get the picture.

Most colleges rework your grades to get rid of the pluses and minuses so 90.0 is the same to them as 100.

At my school no way is a 90 a 4.0. 95 + is the 4.0

3.5 is a 90 for us,

Well, I have a 96.84 and my counselor converted it to a 4.68. I was wrong. It wasn't a 4.0.

IS the a big Difference between an A- and and A. Let's just say I;ve had wuite a few A-'s..

so i guess it really depends on the school? theres no like official conversion chart?

At my school

94+ = 4.0 (A)
93.9-90 = 3.7 (A-)
89.9-87 = 3.5 (B+)
86.9-83=3.0 (B)
82.9-80=2.7 (B-)
79.9-77=2.5 (C+)
76.9-73=2.0 (C)
72.9-70=1.7 (C-)

LOL for a second I thought the title said "GPA Conversations."

That opened my eyes wider o_o

Yes, it depends on the school. Mine converts GPA differently. Ask your conselor to convert it for you.

alright thanks guys
