Gpa Deflation Ucla

Don't you think that it gets easier to get into UClA??? Last year it was much harder to get in.. This year lot of people got in having 2.9---3.2

It depends on major I guess..

I saw many people with low GPAs who got in POL S, Sociology., History, those are highly impacted majors...

Econ major has the same situation as well. Some of my friends have a low GPA (3.5 to 3.7) but they all got into econ department. They all have tap.

3.5 to 3.7 is considered low.

For highly impacted major.. like econ, bizecon

I am not familar with last year stat.

In the tranfer section of the of UCLA's admissions site, don't they say that they factor in grade trends? From personal experience I know that a candidate with a relatively uncompetitivie GPA--the 3.5-3.7 cited here--could have just had a rough semester or two. You would not believe how much 20 units of B weighs down your GPA.

yea it did seem kinda low...heh but then I dont' think 3.5-3.7 is that low

3.5-3.7 is low? Wowzers, like all my friends who got into UCLA have like 3.1-3.3 and they got into impacted majors! Makes you feel bad for all the freshmen applicants that get rejected...

History is impacted right. doesn't seem so with a 65% admit rate tho.
