GPA dropped - no idea where to apply?

You really should take mom2collegekids advice about looking at schools where you are at the VERY top of the applicant pool. If you really want to go to med school…forget about aiming for the top schools… med school really could care less WHERE you went to undergrad… it is ALL about the grades and MCAT scores. Go to a school where you can achieve the best grades… especially in science courses… and a top school that is going to be tough., especially when the pre-med classes are going to be INCREDIBLY tough and the competition to be on the top of the curve, even greater. Why kill yourself?? My S, who is on a gap year, and hiked the complete Pacific Crest Trail…2650 miles BY HIMSELF at 18 years old, and is now working as an EMT and search and rescue( wants to ultimately be a rural wilderness ER Dr) decided on a college where he was in the top 1% of test scores and GPA…and let me let you in on a little secret…it is ranked #91…gasp. He is also not majoring in science( philosophy). He got a top merit scholarship and he will have NO debt after he graduates. He is a smart boy… listen to mom2!!!
