What is an overall average of an 80 on a scale of 4.0
It’s hard to tell, because GPA is based on how you do in every single class. You can’t really convert directly.
Ex. 3 classes, each at 95% = all A’s if an A is 90% = 4.0
2 100s and an 85 = 95% average, but 2 A’s and a B, so 3.67
Thanks
Yes.
Are you a Junior/Senior??
Junior
Does your school allow grade replacement where you can retake the class during the summer?
You have to take it the next year
If you cannot take it until Senior year, then you would be applying with the F on your transcript. Can you take a Community college Physics course or an on-line course over the summer to show colleges that you indeed know the material and you are capable passing the class?
Will it lower my gpa?
Will your F lower your GPA? Of course. If you can retake the Physics class during the summer, you need to find out how your HS will handle the repeat grade.
Do you think that it will raise your GPA?
No
Wait so if I fail does it mean it’s not worth anything it will just say that I failed the course .
Consider this – a student takes two classes worth equal numbers of credit hours. They get two A’s. An A is usually worth 4 grade points. (4+4)/2 = 4.0 GPA.
Another student gets an A (4) and an F (0). (4+0)/2 = 2.0 GPA.
Omg
That’s if you only have two classes though. I’m sure you have many more than that. The example was just to illustrate that while you don’t get any grade points for an F, the class still counts as attempted credits and therefore brings down your GPA by making the denominator larger.
BUT…don’t worry, you have lots of classes in high school! just don’t slack off. If you average other classes it may only bring your GPA down slightly, not 2 whole points
I have 80 and 90s in everything else does gym count because that would be great
Gym/PE rarely counts. Colleges are interested in your academic classes.
I live in ny and if we pass the regents out teachers will pass us for the class so I have until the 15 to study really hard hopefully I pass
