GPA for internship

Hi I'm a sophomore at a pretty good business business school. My majors are finance and international business. My GPA might be around 3.2. I'm looking to take the next semester off and get a job/internship or just prepare for the summer internship. Is it possible to get a worthwhile intership with that GPA? I think most banks and firms look for a high GPA so I'm worried that 3.2 might be too low. Comments?

Many of the finance internships that I have seen listed say a minimum GPA of 3.0. Some, however, do ask for one to include their transcript. I should think, just like with high-school grades for getting into colleges, interviewers for internships will look at GPA's within the context of the caliber of one's school and the type of courses taken.

3.5+ is recommended.

i dont know how taking a semester off from school will help you either

internship that leads to a full time offer > finishing school on time.

but you won't be able to start with that company until you finish school...so say you have to graduate a semester late, then you start working in the spring instead of the fall. so you tell your employer (assuming its an ibank with any sort of name) that you won't be starting with your analyst class but instead they have to wait for you for a semester while you finish? I don't think so.

get an internship while you are still in school...it will look much more impressive that you had a part time finance internship while getting good grades.

Better than not getting an interview with a bank because of lack of experience . Just because he said hes finance does not mean he wants to be a banker. Employers are more flexible than you think, as far as start dates go.
