Could it be a that maybe they think Berkeley students are too liberal. I know a lot of Ibanks have a very conservative atmosphere.

Certainly that would eliminate several Ivies.

The word liberal is thrown around a lot with lots of different meanings. The only Ivy that even comes close to Berkeley in terms of being liberal is Brown. The rest are miles and miles behind. Hell, liberal at Harvard or Yale is probably conservative at Berkeley.

Berkeley is not as liberal as people think. There are a lot of conservative christian groups on campus. Its probably more liberal than most schools, but its certainly not like it was in the 60's.

How so? As a percentage of a student population UCB is most likely very similar to Ivies as far as conservative/liberal.

Seriously, have you even been to Berkeley. If you walk around Sproul, you will probably get way more flyers about joining a christian group than anything else.
