GPA for UCD/UCLA

I'm currently a freshman at UCSC, and I want to transfer to either UCD or UCLA after my sophomore year as a managerial economics or business economics major, respectively.

What GPA will I need to have in order to be a competitive candidate?

Thanks!

why do you want to switch?

I’m not enjoying UCSC for a variety of reasons. UCD was my first choice but I did not get in.

Business Economics at UCLA
Average Admitted Transfer GPA: 3.82
[UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Profile of Admitted Transfer Students, Fall 2007](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof07.htm)

I think it would be wise to distinguish yourself by
internship/volunteer work/job since 90% of transfers to UCLA are from community college and 5% from other UC’s. It’s not impossible but you have to really make an effort. Good thing you are thinking about this as a freshman!

UCLA really hard… UCD pretty ok

To be competitive at UC Davis you need at least a 2.8 or higher and the required courses completed. Please see [Requirements in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences](<a href=“Undergraduate Admissions | UC Davis”>Undergraduate Admissions | UC Davis) for more information regarding the specific major requirements.
