I'm a junior and African American Instate. My GPA is a 3.714 uw 4.21w cummalitive and i have pretty good EC's...school doesn't rank...and lets say i got like a 2000 on my SAT thanks!

...All honors and AP classes also..(some classes only offer honors and not AP)

Everyone thinks his high school is very competitive, his ECs are great, his essay is unique, etc. It is impossible to give objective answers to these sorts of questions.

things like whats the top GPA at your school, how many people has that gpa.. whats your rank (as in estimate percentile since your school doesnt rank, top 10% 5%?), how is your GPA in context of your classmates?

a number really doesnt mean much without its context, and even if we know everything about your school/GPA, it still doesnt tell much about how the rest of your application will be like.

however 2000 on sat seems to be low for columbia since their mid 50% is above 1400 (which could be converted into 2100 new sat score if writting score is assumed to be consistant with the other 2 scores)

since you are a junior already, your GPA is not likely to change dramatically. prepare well for your SAT and work on presenting yourself the best way you can. don't be so focus on that one little number.

your gpa is typical and your sat's are slightly below average material for columbia. they are both nothing special but they are nothing to be ashamed of. I say don't worry and just apply...that seems to be the conclusion reached in every other similar thread.
