GPA/Grades Importance

<p>Hey. I'm currently a sophomore at Northwestern and am a MMSS/Econ major (MMSS is like a honors math program at our school). I'm interested in applying for jobs in the financial sector (GS, Citigroup, JP, etc...) and have done decently in all my classes (GPA - 3.6). </p>

<p>However, I recently ended up with a C+ in one of my major classes and am worried that it would affect my future prospects for business school & jobs, especially in applying for internships this summer. Though I definitely see this one grade as an outlier, would others view it as the same? Can anyone shed light on this?'</p>

<p>I do not think you need to worry about it. You have a decent GPA from a good school. You just need to be proactive and not take things for granted. Take advantage of what your school’s Career Office has to offer. Sign up for any job posting that you might qualify and cast the net wide. Go to your school’s career fair. Also make sure you have a good resume to hand out to companies that come to recruit. Best wishes.</p>
