How hard is it to keep the high GPA needed to stay in the honors program? I know that now I have a 3.7 and that is pretty hard. Freshman year I am worried about trying to get comfortable in college and keeping high grades.

I'm having the same worries as you. From your screen name, I'll assume that we are both going there for the Fisher Business program.

3.4 in an Honors program to keep my major and scholarship is starting to bother me. My other schools want a 3.0

I visit in late March and I'll ask alot of questions about the % of Honors freshman who stay in all 4 years. Also, I'll ask if I have to leave Honors, what happens to my place in the Business school?

I'll let you know what I find out.

I am visiting in April so I will go along the sames lines with questions. Thanks.

I'm a success worrier... I have to put a lot of concern in my work to do well. 'Easy' classes bother me like the dickens.

Brit?----dickens?---get it?

Yeah, you're right, I have no friends.

None of my (8) roommates were kicked out of the Honors program yet, if that helps to alleviate your worries.

I wouldn't put too much concern into it just yet. If you don't have a 3.whatever is necessary for your college by first quarter, that's okay, because they average out the whole year. If you don't have a 3.whatever by the end of freshman year, that's okay, but now you'll be put on probation and are still in the Honors program but may not get all the perks (I am not sure how they work this). So basically, you wouldn't get kicked out of the program for good until sophomore year, and if you can't get it up to a 3.whatever by then, then your honors program is too hard for you and it will be much less stressful to be in a non-honors program.

The Honors program is harder than you'd expect, but you can also control the difficulty. Unless you really love math and science, don't take the honors versions of these courses. But most humanities' honors courses will not kill you. The curves in honors courses are easier for the math/science, and the humanities honors are usually more discussion-based and rarely have busy work. I'd take honors over regular english any day.

Thanks for yuo input Velaen! ddomino, I get it... In fact, I considered capitalizing it, LOL!
