GPA IN NEED OF HELP

Okay, so I am a junior. My GPA is at a 2.9 from last year, extremely embarrassing, and depressing to the point where I’ve balled my eyes out. Now this year I have a two A, 3 B’s, I failed a half credit course, and a C. What would my GPA be with that? I am also in the process of bringing my B’s to A’s and my C to a B or A and retaking the half credit course over the summer online. I was an excellent student my first year but sophomore year went bad and now this year could’ve been good but I didn’t put effort. I wanted to graduate as a Scholar student but you need a 4.0 gpa to that but to be honors you need a 3.5? Any advice on how to graduate as a scholar? Thanks
*I live in GA by the way

There are GPA calculators online that may be helpful. It sounds like you’re doing what you can to raise your grades, so just keep it going senior year.

You cannot graduate as a scholar because you cannot raise your GPA back up to a 4.0. Once you have lost your 4.0, it is not coming back. You can make a 4.0 in a grading period, but not on your cumulative GPA.

True, but do I have a chance of bringing my GPA up to a 3.5? I have a 3.0 right now. I was planning on taking 3 online courses this summer to boost it up but my counselor told me each class would only boost it up .4 points I think,4.16 in total. Is this worth the $1400? I am taking seven classes this year,if I make all A’s this year, will it push it up to a 3.5? Thank you!

They have calculators online to help you determine where you gpa is at. But once it falls from a 4.0 it falls and it won’t go back up. You have a chance though of getting a 3.0 or higher if you work hard throughout your junior and senior years of high school. Try taking online classes, and maybe that will help boost your gpa. All and all, good luck and you can do it.

Not necessarily true. Sometimes weighted GPAs go over 4.0, meaning you could get it back.

Unweighted, however, often means 4.0 is a “perfect” GPA. Any lower grades mean that the perfect average is gone.

See this year is my last year in high school. I need advice on how to push it up to a 3.5 from a 3.0.
