GPA killed my dream? well, it probably did

Gpa?
I was just wondering if i even have a shot at ANY programs (especially USC) with a 3.5 gpa (which is the highest possible for me...sigh) , most of the messups were in freshman year (2.73) and spilled into soph (3.33) but i got my act together for junior year (4.0) and expect the same for my senior year. I have nearly 300 vlounteer hours, and 4s and 5s on AP bio, chem, us, euro, stats, and language. and i also have a 2350 (retake) on my SAT i have a resonably prestigious internship, and some connections to USC (hospital mostly), i have placed well in the westinghouse talent search, and expect to do well in the intel this year, i have a couple of writing awards, and have been a writer for a year, and a editor next year on my school news paper.

Im pretty sure its over for me, and i might as well set my sights on a UC (if they'll even take me....) but, i just wanted to ask the opinions of those that know more than me, if there is anything non-GPA related i could do to boost my chances, im willing to try, even if you think its hopless.. Thanks again for any info you could give me.
