GPA Lowered on Transcript

Hi, I'm a high school sophomore, and I was wondering if a school could lower your GPA if you transferred there from another school. I know this is a little extreme, but I think I earned the original GPAs.

I transferred to a different school after my freshman year, and the first quarter of my Sophomore year, and my GPA was 4.283 , then when I got to my new school it was lowered to 4.125 ( on the grade card the new school gave me) . Then, everyone in my advanced sophomore class was given their transcripts and on mine, my GPA from my previous school for my freshman year was lowered from 4.25 to 4.0 , and the 4.125 was lowered to 4.0 .
Both schools are on different grading scales ( My freshman high school was on a 7-point, where a B was a 93 ) and my current school is on a 10-point, so it was harder at my original school to get an A, let alone an A+ .

At my new school, AP classes are also only for Juniors and Seniors ( though some sophomores were allowed to take them) , and at my original school APUSH was offered to sophomores ( I was in it before I transferred) , so I was wondering if that was a reason why my GPA for this year was lowered ( but the Admins at the new school said it wouldn't be affected) .

If they said it shouldn’t be affected, you should go and talk to them about it (do you have any evidence of them saying this? Like an e-mail or something? If you do, they will be forced to honor what they said). If they say they can’t do anything about it, just don’t give up - but then again, I suppose there is only so much you can do against the admins. The reason behind it could be anything, but when similar things happened at my school, their reasoning was that they had no way to judge the quality of another school to see if the work is equivalent.

Chances are, your old school uses weighted GPAs while your new school does not.
