GPA mix up...confused

So I used a couple of different online gpa calculators and it gives me a gpa of 2.19 for the classes I have. But my school transcripts say I have 2.67? I have called the school and asked them to renew my retaken classes on my transcript which would give me higher grades but this 2.67 seems to be cumulative and not with retakes (otherwise it should be 3+). The transcripts seem to be graded like this (here is an example from the first semester).

B. 3 credits
F. 3 credits
F. 4 credits
B. 3 credits

13 hours attempted
6 hours earned
10 GPA hours. (What is this?)
18 quality points (again, what?)

Transcripts say 1.80 is my gpa.
Calculators say 1.38.

It seems like they divide my GPA hours by my quality points and that's where they got my gpa from. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this how all universities grade? Why are online gpa calculators giving me a different number? I'm a little confused...

I said “Is this how all universities grade?” but I am at a community college. I was asking because I want to transfer and wondered if they graded the same way.

A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D =1, and F = 0.

A 3 credit B yields 9 quality points (3x3) … and you have 2 three credit Bs … so that is the 18 quality points.

I get the 13 credits attempted. Not sure about the 10 GPA hours … was one of the 3 credit courses a retake?

Yes it was. I retook it and got a B. Is that gpa reflective of retakes?

Different schools handle retakes differently … I’d suggest asking the registrar at your school to explain how they determine the GPA.

Now that makes sense. The transcript GPA is calculated by GPA points/GPA hours (18/10=1.8). Your own GPA calculator include the retake hours, so 18/13=1.38. So for your transcript, it would be better to retake that 4 credit you failed too. If you get a B in the retake, your transcript GPA will jump up to 3.0.
