I applied to many CSU schools and as I was looking over my application I realized I used a wrong/false GPA. Ok my application I listed that my total unweighted is a 3.65 when in reality it is a 3.35. I called in to a school that I got accepted into notifying them but all they told me was that they do expect minor errors and that I should just try to keep my GPA as high as possible this last semester of my senior year to combat this error. My question is how much of a GPA drop do colleges rescind admissions for and do you think my acceptance will be revoked?
I’m pretty sure my school sends mid year grades also so I was wondering if colleges use that also for acceptances since the first semester ended before I got accepted into the college. Please someone with any knowledge of colleges admissions help me. This problem has been driving me crazy.
Stop worrying about this. They have your transcript. They are not depending upon your GPA calculations. They aren’t even counting on your high school’s calculations. They re-calculate your GPA using their own systems. So relax!!
You did the right thing to call. It’s in the school’s court now.
So the schools don’t compare reported grades with end of the year transcripts? That’s what they said on the website. And thank you for answering.
CSU’s do compare your self-reported grades to the final transcript. If you made a GPA calculation error, no problem since they will re-calculate based on your self-reported grades. If you reported wrong grades then you need to make the correction by contacting admissions or face being rescinded.
Ok thank you. One last thing, do you think that the difference is big enough to actually get rescinded? Am I really at risk?
If it is a GPA error no worries since you contacted admissions already and they are aware.
