GPA on Common APP

I see that GPA on common app is not a required column. I am thinking of leaving it blank. My GPA is low while my course load was rigorous and I have good AP and Test scores. I don't want colleges to look at my GPA and put me in the reject pile. When I say my GPA is low I mean it is way too low at around 2.9. Also I go to a very competitive school. My weighted is slightly better and is above 3.00 .But if the colleges omit world languages and PE and calculate it can go up to 3.4 ( example UC Capped)

If I report it would go like

Decile
unweighted
2.9

Any suggestions.

Unless the school does not consider your GPA, they will look at your transcript otherwise. If they do recalculate GPA, they will use the info from your transcript. I don’t any advantage to hide it. Unlike SAT or ACT scores, if they don’t see you report it, they may think you took the other test instead. When you do not report your GPA, there is only one reason.

I think my post was not clearly written. What I meant is I would like the schools to recalculate the GPA in their format and use that for identifying if I will fit or not. My good Grades are in science and math and I will be applying to related majors. My worry about self reporting is it will immediately put me in the wrong pile. Does that happen that colleges not recalculate for those with below 3.0 GPA? Also what abt class rank reporting? Do you need to do that if that is not great for your profile?

If you are more comfortable leaving info out of optional responses about GPA or rank on the common app form so schools can look only at your transcript, that’s fine. But, billscho is right that whether or not you self report GPA or rank will make no difference to your admission decision.
