I am currently a freshman, thinking of transferring during my sophomore year for junior standing. I have a question. Will it be advantageous to take many credit hours putting my grades at stake or just take resonable amount of classes and do well? Do colleges look for transfer students to take high number of credit hour or just look at the GPA?

They take into consideration both your gpa and course load (number of credits and difficulty of classes). However, it is NOT a good idea to take a heavy load at the risk of getting low grades. Taking the normal number of credits (15-16 units/sem or qt) is fine.

yeah have at least 15 credits and get good grades. Only take one or two classes more if you can handle it without sacrificing grades

Agree that a "normal" load, ~15-16 credits, with a good GPA is the right way to go
