I'm applying to transfer from a competitive school (30% admit rate) and my gpa is a 3.5, but rank wise im only at 40%, so i'm worried that colleges will think less of my gpa. Will this be a huge weakness for me/ do i have any shot at the ivies?

i think that the general consensus for admissions to an ivy is a gpa of <3.5, preferably somewhere between 3.7 up, but hey what can you lose from applying besides the transfer application fee. Grades are just apart of it too, so tons of e.c may help them overlook your gpa, especially if you have some sort of leadership role. they dont look at just the numbers…

thanks, i am a varsity athlete, which takes up about 25 hours per week of my time plus some weekends, so maybe that will help.
