It seems alot of people seem to think having a GPA around 3.3-3.5 makes you questionable for acceptance at UCLA, i really dont think this is the case as ive seen many many people transfer in with lower GPAs, aside from those who applied with impacted majors. I dont it differs too much from CC to CC, but i dont think its that hard to get in with say a 3.3 if your not impacted. Even the counselors have said 3.2 is competitive, including impacted majors.

^
Yep. Talked with my Honor’s Counselor yesterday and she said the same thing.

I don’t think we should worry that much like we are. :X

Many of the people on this board are applying to impacted majors.

Yeah, alot of people are applying for the impacted majors so 3.8-4.0 GPAs are a must have…majors that only 10 people or so apply for are basically guaranteed in …[UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2007](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof07_mjr.htm)

good lord 3.8-40??? Biology is impacted for sure and i was a biology major last year, while there were a few people in that range, the majority of the people were around 3.4 to 3.6, and they got in, without TAP.

yup my bro got in (if the FA summary is correct) with a 3.45…which I thought was way too low…

^ what is his major?

biochem (his essay kinda suck too…I read it) ><

^ well they do have a 57% admittance rate for that major, which isn’t too shabby

very true…!!

What I’m worried about is Cal…I don’t get how their system works…so many high gpa students get rejected :/

ucb, with cal it’s about the major, as well. i haven’t been able to find stats on admit rates by major for cal.

also, other cards matter (i.e. minority, essay, etc…)

^ Asians are technically a minority… I don’t think it would help being Asian though haha

okay, let me rephrase; minority compared with their current population. they’re looking to diversify the student body. :)

Lol I should have applied as an African Languages Major. Only three people applied and two got in… it would suck to be that third person, hah.
