GPA Progression NOT CHANCING!

Okayyyy so i am an rising senior in high school and i went to a pretty challenging College Preparatory school from 6th-10th grade and prepares kids planning to go into the IB program. So when i was there i didn't really realize that there was a such thing as GPA until like 9th grade, but as an 8th graders I took 3 pre-ap high-school classes. So as i am entering into my senior year my High school transcript (only GPA) reads something like this:

7th grade: 4.0 (I took Algebra)
8th grade: 3.733 (Pre-AP)
9th grader: 3.91 (Pre-Ap) stuff
10th grader: 3.99 (Pre-Ap) stuff
11th grade: 4.0 (I switched schools and I took all IB classes and i hoping to get my diploma next year)

I don't really care about chances because i am gonna rely on my own hardwork and some heavy prayer rather than statistics.

BUT I was wondering whether colleges, specificallly Yale in this case, will look at my 8th and 9th grade classes as much as my 10th and 11th grade classes. And will they see the progression in grades and take that into consideration?? Or will my 8th grade scores screw me over?

But yeah just looking to see your opinions! Thanks! (:

In general for all college apps

Your college apps will include your HS transcript…not middle school…unless you are at a school that rolls up hs courses taken in middle school…and uses them in GPA/credit. as you have changed schools thats not likely.
Also in your case, the apps should include a copy of the transcript and school profile from your first HS and also from your second HS so they can see the progression of grades/stats of each school and where you ranked according to that group.
Most weighted will be your soph and jr yr grades and your sr schedule will be considered.

So bottom line is it is very unlikely Yale is going to see your 7th and 8th grade transcripts.
Good luck.

Ohhh okay thanks, but someone told me that if my 7th and 8th grade classes are high school level classes, which they are. Then they all get seen by colleges. So i wasn’t sure what to expect.

They shouldnt see them as everyone else appliying is only submitting 9-12 grades for the most part so not to worry. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1192555-chance-me-yale-scea.html

Well, It also depends on what goes on your official transcripts. Like for my school, if you took Algebra 1, Spanish 1, or Geometry in the 8th grade, it goes on your official transcript. But college rank semester somewhat like this:

junior year

2nd semester sophomore year

1st semester senior year

1st semester sophomore year

freshman year
