GPA question about BSMD

How significant is GPA towards considering admission toward BSMD programs (specifically TCNJ)?
If my school only has weighted GPA, what should I strive for weighted wise? I know they look for 3.8+ UW (3.9+ for high chances) but since my school doesn’t have it, should I strive for a 4.5+ weighted GPA?
Pertaining to my school’s lack of UW GPA, do they still consider students that don’t have a UW (specifically TCNJ)?

Thanks!

The fact that your school does not have unweighted GPA does not mean that the colleges don’t require you to calculate and report such a GPA. Ultimately these programs look at how many Bs you got irrespective of how high your GPA gets.

@texaspg is a semester of straight B+ (with the exception of Spanish and two electives) going to hurt even if I end up with a 3.9+ GPA?

A B+ is 3.33 and if you get B+s in sciences or Math, it will impact your chances in all likelihood.

@texaspg even if it’s just for 1 semester? I can and will get A’s for the rest of the year, which will make my bio/alg. II grades 3.782…

No one really knows the exact impact. Only the admissions officers at specific schools know how they view the grades. I did see one parent complaining last year about GPA impacting HPME application for an otherwise very high scores NMSF who was not allowed to apply.

If you are a junior now it may have more impact than if you are still a sophomore. However, none of that should stop you from continuing on and doing the best you can and see where it goes.

@texaspg lol still a freshman, first year in high school, so I was having trouble understanding how tests are and what type of info teachers expect you to know (not just regurgitating a text book).
