GPA Question

My dad is Pakistani and my mom is Turkish, so I am a minority and my family makes around 50,000 a year with 3 children.

But I don't even know if I should apply because:

I have a 3.57 UW and a 3.882 W, which is really low.

I have an upward trend though

Fresh 3.175
Soph 4.14
Jun 4.55
Senior 4.85 (Expected)

Should I even apply?

Yes. Doesn’t hurt to try. Gates I believe is more community service/leadership/character based than GPA based. And upward trending is good.

Yeah because I don’t think they require a Transcript until later in the process, correct?

Yes. I applied a GPA around yours and received the scholarship; I also have friends with a high school GPA lower than yours and they still received it.

Like NYSP said, GMS is more about community service, leadership, and character rather than numbers (SAT/GPA/etc).

They do ask for your grades in the first part of your process. But not a transcript, they just unofficially ask you to list your courses and grades.
