GPA Question.

If i have a too low GPA in my freshman and sophomore years and have a brilliant GPA in Junior and Senior years, My Chances get down to low for the top universities?

How low is low? You should have a 3.5 AT MINIMUM, and even then you’d need great ECs/Essays/SATs to make up for it, so anything below a 3.0 for those first two years is bad. You need to explain yourself on your application, and let the admissions officers know why your scores were low (unless you have a dumb reason, like “I was lazy”); otherwise, it could seriously hurt your chances of admission.

Bump…I’d also like to get an answer to this question…assuming that lyiiro does have around a 3.5 GPA, seeing as he did well in the 11th and 12th grades,

If you take hard classes during your Junior and Senior years and did well, then colleges will appreciate the upward trend in grades. If you have great ECs, SATs, essays, hooks, etc, then those things combined can make up for the GPA.

Thanks…one more quick question. I got one C junior year but the rest are A’s…all APs…and my junior year GPA is still an upward trend from freshman and sophomore years. So would the C actually hurt much? Thanks.

Im from brazil, the college selection here is differente. Read here: [Vestibular - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Vestibular exam - Wikipedia)

And i get to the idea to get into a nice college ( U.S College :stuck_out_tongue: ) now. ( In brazil the School Year overs on December )

In brazil, the GPA doesnt affect you chance to get into the college. I wasnt caring about my GPA, but now, im going to Junior Year and i want to get into it.

Lyiiro. Univeristies will not just look at your GPA. They will look at your grades throughout all your years. So, if it looks like your grades improved dramatically in junior and senior year, the universities will most likely see it as a good sign. Like, you have the potential to succeed and you realized that junior year and youre willing to work hard.
