GPA Question

I come from a top and very competitive prep school, and I was wondering whether my 3.78 uw gpa (i have 9 B+ semester grades) will pretty much keep me out of Yale? I've taken the second highest number of AP courses in my school. All my other stats are good, but I was browsing the yale EA admit threads, and I found that most admits have 3.9+ uw gpas, including the prep school ones. (BTW, I'm an Indian-American male from Cali, no legacy)

It depends on what the highest GPA in your high school is. If there are a lot of people with a GPA higher than yours, that take about the same class load, then chance might be lower. But if your GPA is one of the highest in your school compared to people with the same classes, then I would say your chances improve. Of course, GPA is not the only factor of whether or not you will get into a school, there are many others. Oh, and good luck on getting into Yale!

well all i know is that there are 17 kids with uw gpas between 3.76-3.99, but of course, uw doesn't take into account curriculum difficulty. ah, w/e, i guess i just depended too much on the rep of my school as a difficult school.
