GPA Question

Hi,
I am looking to transfer to an american university after my freshman year at a Canadian university and was wondering how my high school gpa is looked at.

Normally in Canada, universities will base their admission decision solely on the students grade 12 marks.
So my question is:

Do american univerisities look at the marks for all four years of highschool (for canadian students), or do they look specifically at grade 11 and 12. If they do look at all four years, will a lot of weight be put on grade 9 and 10 marks, or will the majority if not all the weight be put on the last two years of marks.

Thanks!

For fr admissions, the majority of US colleges look at all 4 yrs of grades. Some colleges specifically state that they do not factor fr courses in your gpa. In general, jr year is the most important, then sr, soph and fr last.

As a soph transfer applicant, you will only have completed 1 sem when you apply. They might look less at your fr and soph years, or at least look for a trend; but this is likely to vary depending on the college.
