I am an incoming sophmore DGS student and my first year at CC i got a 3.21 gpa, I know its bad its that low because of getting B's in eassy gen ed clases. Anyways, i want to transfer to chem engineering and will try to get a good gpa my first year.

I know the requirement says a 3.2 uiuc gpa to be considered but what should I aim for my first semester that will actually have me a chance in getting in? Is 3.5 enough?

Will they care about my transfer gpa if i get a 3.5+ at u of i?

If you really want to get into Chem E, why settle for 3.5 or 3.7? Set up a reasonable mix of classes for the first year–no blowoff classes, but also don’t take a schedule with the 5 most difficult courses possible. Then try to Ace every class. If you fall a bit short, you should still be in good shape.

^ I will try my best of course but just saying If I don’t get that perfect GPA, will I be fine. This fall I am taking physics 212, chm 222 lecture only, chbe 221, math 285 (diff eq), last 170.

This is the schedule they told me so I am just following them 16 credits? Will I be fine
