Hi so I'm a junior in a very competitive highschool and in freshman and sophomore year I have gotten 5 B's one of which has been in an AP Class. By the end of first semester senior year, I will have taken 14 ap classes. Assuming I get an A in all of them from junior year to senior year, I have used many online calculators and they say my gpa will be a 4.2 maximum. Does this make sense? Is it hopeless?

It depends on how your school weights (or doesn’t) harder AP classes. You will have to provide that information in order for people to be able to help you.

It’s on a 4.0 scale they weight regularly I think?

Okay but do you get a 4.0 if you get an A in a CP class? And then a 5.0 if you get an A in an AP class? Those are the numbers I am talking about. That is just an example and is not necessarily the “standard” for GPA weighting. Every school is different, so you will have to find out for your own individual school.

It is .025 extra to our gpa for ap classes
Do some colleges calculate it with 5 points for an ap class
