GPA Question

Hello,

I’m a junior in high school, and I thought that I should start thinking about college admission.

What I want to bring up today is that I have an “A-” in HEALTH.

I’m aiming for topnotch colleges, and I’m wondering if they would care much about this…

My worry is that they will think something like “HEALTH is the easiest course – he probably didn’t care much and slacked off”…

However, this is not true. I had a B (B-, B, or B+) in Middle School HEALTH, and it’s the only class that I’ve been struggling with. I devoted so much time and effort on this class and ended up getting a 92%.

PLEASE I NEED YOUR OPINION :frowning:

i can’t imagine any school is going to care about an A- in health.

No school extant is going to care about a single A- in ANY course. Lighten up – please.

My opinion is that you should not worry about this anymore. Particularly because you can’t change it.

Since you say you’re hoping to applyt to T20 schools, then know that 4.0 students with crazy ECs get rejected – and 3.8 students get accepted. Rather than comb through every aspect of your profile (GPA, EC list, etc), just make your mind to be content and presenting the best version of yourself come time of applications. The earth isn’t going to split if dadak doesn’t get into a particular school. It appears you have great academic potential. Continue to nurture that.

Don’t be like the 100s of resume/gpa obsessed kids at my kiddo’s HS. I’m glad my dd didn’t succumb to that and remained authentic – and now VERY happy at her non-top-20 university (gasp!)

Do you people really fret over these type of things? What has the college application process done to you…

Are you for real right now…
You could get an A- in EVERY class and still end up in a really good college. An A- is a good grade unless you’re in “basic addition and subtraction” in 11th grade. If an adcom rejects you because of that (most certainly not), then you probably don’t want to attend that school anyway.

You’re doomed. And so will all your offspring for many generations.

Lighten up.

An A+ in health would not have helped you. An A- will not hurt you. Keep in mind that thousands of 4.0 students are rejected by top schools every year.
