GPA question?

My I got my school report card, and my school doesn't stick to the good ol' fashioined GPA scale that you always here about (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, etc.).

It just said my GPA was equal to my overall class average (which was a 90.5-ish).

However, when I enter the individual grades into a nifty GPA-calculator online, I'm getting 3.6. Is that my "legit" GPA? Or is GPA higher? Do colleges take the class average?

Well, the only thing you can really do is tell us all of your grades so we can convert it to the standard 4.0 scale.

100-90 = 4.0
89-80= 3.0
etc

and then average those grades.

Some colleges just look at your 100 pnt scale grade, and others convert it to their own 4.0 scale.

3.6 seems actually a bit high for a 90.5 average. There is no consideration given to the class's average, this is normally dealt with in ranking.

You can have a 90.5 average and have a 4.0 GPA.

I know some people who always seem to get straight As with 90-92s in each of their classes.

^ I know, that is what I was just thinking about.

a 3.6 is an A-.

A=4.0 A-=3.6 B+=3.4, bla bla bla.

so that seems to make sense.

^ Not really. It depends on the school you attend. An A+, an A, and an A- are 4.0s at my school, while it is differnet at other schools.
