If I got a B in Lit in Freshman year but have As for all other classes does that mean im screwed for top schools like Stanford?

Yes. Top schools accept only students with 4.0s.

really? can i get some other opinions on this?

I was kidding, jeez.

Look at the data for Stanford – [Applicant Profile : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/basics/selection/profile.html). Plenty of people get in with even <3.70 GPAs (and I believe this is weighted, as the first option on the chart is “4.0 and above.”)

one B does not kill you. unless your high school makes it easy to earn A’s.

my school is like full of smart asians and my school sends out around 20 validictorians each year. I no that this 1 B will kill my class rank, but how much will this class rank hurt me?
