GPA -- Question

I have gotten a 31 on the ACT for my first try. I am trying to raise it to 33 on the OCT test.

So my question is, does GPA play a big role in college applications. I have around 3.6-3.7 GPA in my school because I have taken AP/IB classes which I couldn't handle and got some B's.

If I get a 31-33 on the ACT, will I still have good chances for top schools like... you know...

Your scores seem too "average" for top schools (I'm assuming you are referring to HYPMS)

I think a 33 would be competitive but yes, GPA is very important!

Since you're taking AP and IB classes, it also raises your class rank (Yeah.... I'm facing the same problem with GPA right now) so I'm hoping that colleges will look at that a little more.

Yes, I was referring to HPYMS, but I was aiming towards any of the credited schools like Wustl, Dartmouth, and others.

Thanks for your replies.
