Alright so I'm a sophomore. NYU is my top choice and will always be. Anyways, last year I did really horrible as a freshman. I ended up with an 84 GPA which converts around a 2.9/3.0. This is really but but right now as a sophomore I am doing fairly well. I know NYU will like the upward trend in grades but what I want to ask is what kind of GPA, specifically, does NYU look for? Just looking at grades, if I have a 2200+ SAT will a 3.5ish GPA cut it?

I want to get in CAS but wouldn't mind GSP either.

NYU is looking for around a 3.6. I'd say as long as you keep up the good work and improve, NYU may look over ur freshman yr grades. But don't rely on my response.

Lol the SAT is the least of my worries. I've been studying for it since the beginning of summer so we'll see where PSAT puts me around come December.

they usually don't care much for your freshmen gpa... I think they might even dismiss it in the weighing process.
then again.... gpa is a new story once you're in.

lol just try your absolute best. You're only a sophomore, geez. Get the GPA to a 3.6, it isn't impossible. Like Sakky said in other posts, it isn't hard to outstudy most HSers, and if you're serious, get serious.
