Some colleges do and some don’t. And to make things even muddier, some colleges only count certain electives towards your recalculated GPA. I know that my state school recalculates GPA and only counts the courses they require for admission (which includes a few electives) in their GPA recalculation. These electives include Foreign Language (2 credits), Fine Art (1 credit), PE/JROTC (1 credit), and an Academic Elective which is just about any extra class that you don’t really need (1 credit). I would check with the colleges you’re interested in to see.
I’m interested in this thread because I’d never really thought about GPA recalculation. Likewise, do many/most colleges include electives or omit them in GPA recalculation? It’s the other way around for me; A+s in gym (which is mostly participation) and health (which was required for graduation, but wasn’t very hard) boost my GPA.
