GPA recalculation?

I’ve been reading a couple of college’s admissions blogs and a lot of them say that they recalculate GPA based on a unweighted scale, with exclusively core classes factored in. Of the classes I’ve taken, which would be considered core, especially if I took two classes in the same subject that year (like 2x science soph year)? Also, does anyone know if colleges advertise their average GPA as an average of the recalculated GPAs, or the average of untouched transcript GPAs? Hoping to get a better glimpse of what college admissions offices will be looking at to better gauge what to except! Thanks so much! any resources that would allow me to do the calculations myself would be awesome as well.

Some colleges recalculate GPA; most just use what appears on the transcript.

Core courses are English, history/social science, math, science, and foreign language. So, art, music, PE, shop, etc would not count.

Don’t waste your time here. Nobody knows what goes on in these peoples’ minds. Just try to put together the best package that you can.
