GPA requirement question

For most scholarships from Universities, you need to have certain GPA, in order to qualify for that Scholarship. Is the GPA going to be based from just your Freshman+Somphmore+Junior years of High School? Or does it include Senior year as well?

Rarely do they include senior year since the awards are often determined in the Fall, or at least before senior year grades are in.

Senior grades at the time of merit decisions are often only 1st quarter grades (which aren’t very important), or 1 semester grades, which would only 1/7th of your grades, so not likely going to bump GPA much.

Often merit is based on grades 9-11

What is your situation?

What is your GPA? What is your weighted GPA?

Your GPA would not come up much even if first semester senior year grades were included.

Your biggest problems are going to be: GPA and being low income. You need “full aid,” yet your GPA will likely keep you out of “full aid” school that use frosh year grades.

From another post, it looks like your GPA w/o frosh year grades is about a 3.5? Is that right? Even that is an issue at the schools that meet need.

I don’t know how you’re predicting a 2000 - 2200 SAT even with studying. Your SAT last June was what?

What is your current school list? At one point, you had several OOS publics that would not be affordable.

How much will your parents pay each year? Ask them, please don’t guess.

Being a PA resident is also an issue, since PA in state public schools tend to be expensive with poor in state financial aid.
