GPA requirement

<p>I am not sure if someone posted something very similar to this post but I hope i get an answer.</p>

<p>We have always applied to programs and/or colleges. When we begin to apply, we would always search for the GPA they required for admissions too see if we qualify.</p>

<p>they usually say along the lines of "A minimum cumulative GPA of ___ is required". </p>

<p>We know that having exactly that GPA will not guarantee us admissions, so what do you suggest to have? How much higher should your GPA be above their require GPA? Let's use an example of requiring above a 3.0 GPA.</p>

<p>oh, let's ignore the SAT and EC's part. =) Just GPA.</p>

<p>It depends on how competitive the program is. When I applied I believe a 3.0 was required but was told that the average admitted gpa was more like a 3.7. The average gpa of last years admitted class should be on the website or available to an admissions counselor if you want to know.</p>
