So during ninth grade I had all honors classes with the exception of world language, for which there is no honors (freshmen can't take AP) and I got about a 3.85 GPA - one B+. During 10th grade, I had two AP's and the rest was honors - I got a B+ in one of my AP classes and a B+ in world language (again no honors available for language). This corresponded to about a 3.77 GPA.

Now I realized that I was very lax during tenth grade and to a lesser extent ninth grade, so I am trying to get a high Junior GPA. I have five AP classes this year, one honors, and world language. I am aiming for a 4.0 this year but it's possible that I'll get a B+ in one class, which would correspond to a 3.91 (it's different than freshman year because I'm taking more sciences which are worth more credits).

My question is, have I mortally wounded myself? Have I significantly diminished my chances of getting into one of the best schools? Should I be worried? Or if I do much better this year can I negate the effect of my previous years in high school?

Also, will colleges be aware that my school does not offer any honors versions of world language classes or do I have to specifically note this? I like to think of my hardest courseload as one of my strong points.

Thank you.
