So just to recap: I go to an “elite” prep school. Freshman year my grades were good: (3.9 GPA) but the first term of my sophomore year, I got a 3.2 GPA. I am positive I did not do well this term. So will my low GPA sophomore year negatively impact my chances of getting into the top tier colleges, to which I want to go?
A “bad” term will negatively impact your cumulative GPA, but colleges like to see an upward trend, and since you’re only a sophomore, you have lots of time to get yours back up. Best of luck!
