GPA system is harder ?

I'm from Hong Kong. I'm planning on transferring to USA colleges.

Here my university recently adopted the GPA system, so the teachers and graders don't know about it very much. They give As and Bs without regards to "GPA".

As a result, most students here get a low GPA. A 3.0 is considered REALLY high, especially in my department, enough to get a first class honors.

How can I make that known to the unis I'm applying to as a transfer? I don't want them to look at my GPA (around 3) and throw my app out in the trash.

Thanks a lot.

your SAT scores will matter A LOT.

I highly doubt they’ll look at your GPA, and throw your application out. I mean I’m not saying I know much about how each application is viewed, but I would like to think that admission officers are more sensible than that.

I’m not planning on submitting SAT scores as I’m taking them this week and it’s going to be just BAD (didn’t do math in 2 years!)

Hey, I am now in University in HK and interested in transfer as well.
maybe we can help each other~
