gpa thing

is it only me who thinks

gpa is unfair in a way?

some school is harder than other.. but gives same amount of GPA

im with you in a way....one bad year screws you over...

thats why colleges ask for class rank. It gives them an idea of where you are. If someone had a 4.0 but was only in the top 20%, that wouldn't look as good as someone who has a 3.8 and is top 5 in their class. You see what I'm saying?

^
I think GPA should be added and averaged.

For instance:
A student had 7 AP classes with a perfect GPA
B student had 7 AP Classes and 1 honors class with a perfect GPA

I think student B should be ranked higher.

an A at my school is 94%.

an A at another school is 90%.

now thats unfair.

Colleges know this. Like someone else said, they ask for class rank, and many ask for a grading scale as well.

at my school, an A is 89.5 and at my friend's school it is a 94.

we have analyzed this endlessly and realized that no matter what, teachers are grading to the curve. it takes about the same effort to get an A at her school than at mine, there school was just suffering from grade inflation so that system tried to account for that.
