Hey my gpa is not where i want it to be and ive been hearing of a couple tricks to pull it up such as summer school and classes at a community college. Any one willing to share something new?

easy online courses

where ?????!!!! I live in Ca am i eleigible or is it one of those "Floridian's" things

As many AP classes as you can possibly stand

Taking classes at a local CC can boost your gpa if you have an uw gpa below 4.0

Summer school where I live will bring down your GPA unless you are already in regular classes.

At my school, joining Ac Dec is a very good trick to bring up your GPA.

If there is a class that you school only offers in regulars, try to take it by correspondence or talk to the counselour about teaching yourself.

Our CC gives Alg2 and geom classes in the summer you can use for credit.

take a bunch of electives like PE.

PE at my school either doesn't give u any GPA points or is a regular's course.

Wow... I didn't know there were all these tricks to GPA. I've always gone for the "Study Harder" method.

:)

Hmmm... how does this trick work? I'm assuming you have to ask the school's permission and then hook up with the nearby community college? Can this work for a private school? And if one chooses to dedicate his or her time taking night classes, does it raise your GPA significantly?

I always figured that since you're taking it at college level you either
1. Get more points for it
2. Get no points for it and your GPA is unaffected by bad grades you may get in the class. If you were taking the class at the highschool, whatever grades you got would affect your GPA.

Has anyone here ever tried doing the "community college" or "night classes" trick? If so, how effective are they?

My state, Minnesota, has a thing set up where the state govt. will pay for a high school student to enroll and take classes at any public or private school/university in the state. In previous years leading up to this past school year, a student would get hs credit if they took a comparable class at the university. BUT it did not affect their GPA. This year, however, the law was changed so that post secondary grades do factor in to hs gpa.

im taking classes at my community college right now and it only cost $10 for as many classes as you want.
